Societe Generale in the Netherlands

A presence since 1977, around 200 people represent the core banking activities in different locations in the country.

Our approach

Societe Generale is active in the Netherlands since 1977, through our Branch in Amsterdam, SG Equipment Finance (Amersfoort), and our car fleet management subsidiary ALD (Hoofdorp).

More than 200 people represent the Group activities in different locations in the country. A team of experienced people based in Amsterdam are dedicated to Corporate and Investment Banking and Global Transaction Banking (Cash Management and Trade Finance).

3 market segments are key for us :

  • Large Dutch Corporates.
  • Financial Institutions (Banks, Insurance companies, pension funds and asset managers).
  • Subsidiaries of foreign Multinationals (MNC’s).

We work closely with Paris and London for Back-office, dealing room, research, business-line expertise.

Societe Generale Amsterdam is a branch of Societe Generale S.A which  is a French credit institution authorised and controlled by the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution, (“ACPR”), the Autorité des Marchés Financiers ( “AMF”) and under the prudential supervision of the European Central Bank (ECB). The supervision of the Branch rests with the supervisor in the home Member State (France). The Dutch Central Bank (DNB) as the ‘host supervisor’ is responsible for the integrity supervision of the branch office.

We are a member of the main banking associations locally (NVB, FBA, Betaalvereniging, Franse Kamer van Koophandel).
